CareSouth Medical and Dental is hosting its third Community Vaccine Event on Friday, April 16 at its Baton Rouge Clinic, 3140 Florida St., from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In light of the recent decision by the CDC and the FDA to pause the use of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine due to concerns about blood clots, CareSouth Medical and Dental will not administer the J&J vaccine at its Community Vaccine Event on Friday, April 16. Instead, we will be vaccinating 200 people with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine by appointment only.
“CareSouth is excited to be able to host another community wide event to continue to give access to those in our community who need it most,” said Matthew Valliere, CareSouth CEO. “We’re committed to making sure the vaccine is available to everyone.”
There is no out-of-pocket cost for the Moderna vaccine. If you have insurance, your insurance will be billed. If you don’t have insurance, CareSouth will cover the cost. Residents are asked to bring their insurance card if they have one and a photo ID.
Appointments are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call (225) 650-2000 to schedule your appointment.
