Woman’s Hospital has welcomed Eboni Thompson Buchanan as vice president of physician Services. She is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Woman’s physician practices and the continued advancement of clinical services.
Buchanan, a Baton Rouge native who was born at Woman’s Hospital, comes to Woman’s from MedStar Health in Washington, D.C.. There, she was senior director of Women’s and Infants’ Services. She has experience in leading clinical operations and strategy for sub-specialties in health systems across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. She said she is passionate about helping improve the health of women and infants in her home state.
“I am thrilled to be returning to the place I call home to care for a community that helped shape me personally and professionally,” said Buchanan. “Woman’s has such a tremendous reputation as a strong, independent hospital focused on women and infants, and I’m excited to be part of future growth and strategic initiatives.”

Buchanan earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of New Orleans. She has a master of health services administration from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Service Executives
