Councilwoman Erika L. Green and Imagination Leads LLC is hosting a weeklong Juneteenth
On Monday, June 14, youth are encouraged to participate in the Virtual Mentorship panel featuring: Jalessa Jones, literacy specialist; sttorney James Benton; and Ashley Chavis, educational consultant for LDOE. This panel will be moderated by sttorney Quintillis Lawrence.
Wednesday, June 16 th will feature a virtual HBCU workshop with representatives from local HBCUs, LOFSA, and TRIO Programs. Both events are free, at 6pm, and registration is recommended through Eventbrite.
The culminating activity will be held Friday, June 18 th as a hybrid speaker series event at
Manship Theatre. This event is entitled An Evening with Tiffany Cross, host of the Cross
Connection on MSNBC and author of “Say It Louder! Black Voters, White Narratives, and
Saving Our Democracy”. Ticket purchases for in-person attendance includes a signed copy of
her book and should be purchased at: manshiptheatre.org. Tickets for the virtual viewing of the
program can be purchased on Eventbrite.
